This isn't a move you should be making Tony, you don't have the depth.

no, it is absurd. it really is.

I'm having a good day and Steve rightfully took advantage - good for him!

What...Ryan Johnson + Thomas Hickey + Alexei Ponikarovsky is a killing for Pavs? Definately disagree there.

So what? Pavelski, and the Sharks organization as a whole really are having a down year. If you honestly believe those two players are comparable, you are an idiot.

you always come out so aggressive in these sort of things and just come off looking like a fool. do some research bud.

First off, Poni played 10 more games, not 9. It would have been more, but Poni was benched for several games. Secondly, last season, at age 30 Poni had the second best season (statistically) of his career (50), a total that was surpassed in 10 less games by Pavelski, who is also 4 years younger. At the same point in development Poni was nowhere near were Pavelski (25) currently is. There is no comparison, and the fact that Pavs was the better H2H player (almost across the board) in 10 less games says all that needs to be said.

And none of this even takes into consideration Poni's current role, a third liner on Los Angeles. Pavs is a better player today, and a superior one moving forward.

P.S. I'm not your bud.

Personally, I'd rather Pavelski here. I just find it a little bit of a weird trade. Tony traded Fleischmann and a few other contributing NHLers for prospects and then trades prospects for Pavelski. This is a lot of GMs troubles in this league, you either want to compete and build your roster or you don't.. you've gotta be committed to doing one or the other.

But I guess it's the Sharks love?

That is my biggest issue here as well, Johansson was one of the main pieces in the Toews deal, if Tony didn't intend on rebuilding with him than why did he trade Toews in the first place? It's puzzling really...

Kid is 25 and just coming into his prime.....Johansen hasn't proven a thing
