I just came to the realization that there are too many good teams around to ever compete next year.

Everyone is on the block for picks and futures and younger players. Some noteables:

Henrik Sedin
Daniel Sedin
Jussi Jokinen
Ville Leino
Nicklas Lidstrom
Semyon Varlamov
Michael Neuvirth

and whoever else

dude I can't beat NJD, BOS, TOR, WSH or TBL majority of the time. It's pointless to try to compete. I will finish 6th seed and get eliminated round 1. better to rebuild.

But I did exactly that last year. I sold great pieces for solid picks/prospects. I just then turned around and got better.. I think that's what Kareem means.
