Goaltending Rape. Who says goalies matter? Confirmed.

You're dreaming if you think Kaberle is going to be making 3 million.

lol so much for posting on Steve's other thread... I guess everything I said there can be ignored.

FTR, I will not budge with Halak/Miller swap unless the pieces are better than Rafalski/Tyutin/White...

Odd deal...lots of pending UFAs involved so you can't really figure out how that will shake out. Halak is locked in with the Blues and Bobrovsky is signed with the Flyers but isn't the sure thing #1 anymore. Kaberle, Roloson, Boucher and Raycroft are all wild cards...impossible to judge this deal until after the dust settles. Initial lean is towards Steve...Halak (when healthy) is a top-flight goalie...he's the only guy you already know what his role will be next year. Shiv got 4 players with unknown futures. You assume all 4 will have gigs in the NHL to varying degrees but you don't know right now so this move looks risky until we know more.

All that being said...watch Shiv flip all 4 guys before tomorrow and make everything I say moot.

LOL...Kaberle is not going to make less than he currently is...With the cap going up, and Kaberle a soon to be FA, you can bet your ass he will get 5.5 million, minimum.

forget Kaberle. the main reason I made this deal was Bobrovsky. He's that good.

Nice grab Steve, Halak is a les git goalie and this is an area where risk sucks. Not a bad return either Shiv, just not pieces I'd be chomping at the bit to acquire.

He's really not...And if I were a betting man, I would wager that he is not even the starter come October this year. My gut tells me the Flyers will make a move for one of the Capitals three #1 netminders.

Oh I thought you were talking about Halak/STL right until the 13th last word.

Goalie Bob is a risk no doubt, I expect the flyers to address their goalie situation this off-season -> either via trade or free agency. As Jay Onrait would say
" Bobrovksy your off the case!"

Kareem, I agree. Philly will go after a starter. But Holmgrem, Snider and the entire Flyers organization have made it abundantly clear: Bobrovsky is the future. Any guy they get will simply hold an interim position. Roloson is a terrific buffer between now and 2012-2013. And I receive Kaberle as a bonus in a near lateral move. Not to mention Bobrovsky is only 22. No brainer imo.

Michael Leighton is the starter for Philly forever. Book it.

That is a rational decision for making this trade, hard to argue with that.

Halak is 25 and is currently the now & future in St Louis

Impossible to tell who won this deal until UFA, retirement, and KHL signings all play-out this summer.
