We're likely going to each create 3 banners for 3 different players. We'll have 1 week to do it.

We'll let people post who they want ..

Kareem has already expressed interest in Yakupov.
Scott has already expressed interest in Kadri.

I can't make guarantees because I want to try and let this go to GMs that have had very few, if any banners made for them.

Any objections?

Whatever people want, doesn't matter to me. I like wallpapers 1000x better anyways.

If it's a wallpaper, we'll each create 3 .

I'll make a poll with like 15 NHLers, people can vote for as many as they want, and whichever 3 have the most votes, we make.

Does that sound good?

I'll start a thread with BBKLers suggesting NHLers for wallpapers if we like this idea.

Guys I think Banners are better because they can be displayed in BBKL by GMs. Wallpapers would go on GM's desktops. its a no brainer for it to be a banner for that reason only.

I don't care if people display my work on here. Wallpapers are way better where the little things actually matter and not crammed into a 500x200 pixel area.

Bigger area, better work.

sigs are no way to determine the "best" artist. simply not enough room for creativity.

hell shiv, your sigs are often just cut out from wallpapers anyway.

GMs that are putting names out there would actually like to be able to use them.

I also don't buy the argument that Banners = lesser creativity/skill. You are given an empty space. The challenge is to fill it as best as you can and compare. And there is a skill involved in filling that empty space.

Most importantly: pertaining to BBKL, banners should be the measuring stick. Otherwise why don't we start all kinds of contests lol. BBKL chess championship? Lol It's just as arbitrary.
