Really really didn't want to give up Ellis, but this solidifies me down the middle - and I have plenty of cap space for Plekanec's inevitable raise.

Major coup for the Isles...I'm always partial to teams that acquire the known commodity. What a nice little 1-2 punch they've got going at center with Koivu and Plek.

You've got a lot of money invested in centers between Datsyuk, Savard and Sedin. If anything, you move that salary and at to another position. Top prospects and high picks are always coveted by those around the league so you'll be able to move the pieces you got to someone else down the line. I wish I had your problem, seriously...

You would like to hope he would grow another 8 inches, cormier with 3 hots and a cot, meh time will tell how this deal will work out

You can't replace Suter, that being said when Ellis is ready he's gonna be paired with one of Weber or Suter. I love this deal for Shiv

Ellis was drafted with the intent of playing the top pp...So yes, he is expected to take Suters spot beside Weber, on the top pp unit.

I received Ellis (11th pick), NYI 1st 2011 (potential top 5) and Cormier (who if he does go to jail will be solid lol) for a player who wasnt going to fit under my cap anyways.

I gave up Nieds + 2 3rds for Cullen + 4th.

I gave up Cullen + 1st WSH + 2nd + 4th for Plekanec + 4th

So i basically turned: Nieds + 1st WSH + 3nd + 2 3rds into Ellis, Cormier, 1st NYI.

I think I overpaid, sure - but I want to get better sooner rather than later. Like I said, I HATE losing Ellis but whatever ... If this isn't Shiv I probably don't make this deal.
