Actually I wouldn't want to know. I believe he's a very smart guy but what the fuck with all these trade.
Simply doesn t make sense for is team. it only depend if he was over the cap for player and under cap.
Can your explain your reasoning behond your madness.

The worst part about this trade is that Detroit only picked up $375,000 in salary...At this point I am unsure how Detroit will meet the cap floor, nevermind the games payed minimum.

I agree and it's disappointing really. I was hoping shoalzie would start to turn around his team but it is just getting worse and worse.

I personally don't think the trade is that bad. Yes he added marginal cap. But he did it in one roster spot instead of spreading it across two. At this point, Shoalzie's Detroit team is going to suck no matter what till he can use his 1st in 2013 as leverage. The only other way to turn this team around is to do what Lee/I do which is make an infinite amount of trades and try to make small gains at a time. But I don't see Shoalzie ever being that active.

Well, Ward's payoff performance earned him a nice contract onto a very good team, Kelly is no bum either... isn't that a step back for his team value wise?

I also do the same thing by making a bunch of trade to make a profit at the end of the lines. But there's other gm like Minny that rather to be stiff and look for that one gold mine and take it and run with it. Either way is better then what Detroit is doing at the moment. I like Detroit and don't want him to be fired or let go but the way he's going no one else would ever want to take Detroit the way it is.

The issue is that Shoalzie doesn't have 20 active roster players, and he just put himself further in the hole by dealing two nhlers for one.

yeah I don't disagree. I think Shoalzie was focusing on cap too much and didn't realize he was taking a step back.

I'll bring this up Shoalzie because I think everyone here likes you very much. But you have to turn that team around. If I was you, I would study how the good GMs work in this league. Not necessarily the power houses. The GMs that have slowly added value to their team. I.e. Florida Chris, Lee etc. Go through their trade histories etc and try to see how they've added value. Get lots of opinions when you make deals. Even if it is by PM. You have to be hyper active. You really do need to make a ridiculous number of trades to turn that team around. Otherwise you're going to be a bottom 5 team for years and that's no fun either. And tbh I'm pretty sure every GM wants that team to be back to where it once was.

Anyways that's my 2 cents.

Goddamn, you guys are harsh. I think he was in a position to move a couple of forwards for one defenseman, because he only had a handful of healthy defensemen.

Shit...I'm glad I stayed away from this all day and enjoyed the nice weather and had some fun.

This is of small consequence to most of you but I gain closer to 900K-$1.5M...depends on which guy I want to plug in. When I trade two active players for one, I can bring up another player and you add that salary to the difference between Gonchar and Ward/Kelly. Say I plug in Summers at $1.2M, then I just gained $1.5M. I'm more likely to just add a guy on a 2-way deal (and not waiver exempt)...$500-600K cap hit at most added to the $300K or so.

And I'll say this...I went to a funeral on Friday for my girlfriend's aunt and I've got my ONLY sister living in New Jersey and my mom on vacation in Virginia and worried about them this weekend as the hurricane went through. I don't give two giant shits about what you know-it-alls have to say about this one trade nor am I going to waste my time arguing. Go back to felating each over your own trades...let me deal with my team myself.

Oh and I hope you had a nice weekend too, gentlemen...
