Nichol doesn't even project as a regular on STL, blocked by (Backes, Berglund, Arnott, Sobotka) up the middle, and (Oshie, Macdonald, Langenbrunner, Perron, Crombeen, Steen, Stewart, Dagostini) on the wings. Big win for Shiv, IMO.

Nichol is better than Sobotka, Langenbrunner, D'Agostini, Perron and Crombeen.

From the update I was given on CBS this morning. The blues have moved Sobotka to the wing and Nichols will be his C.

Even if you eliminate Perron, Nichol won't be his replacement as a top 6 scoring forward. It is more likely that Phil McRae gets the call, I also don't anticipate Perron missing too much time this season. The possibility still exists that he starts the season, but it is more likely he plays a few weeks after that to be safe.

Nichol will play 75+ games barring injury.
