I agree with the overpayment. A good young roster, three great prospects and a top 5 pick in 2013, seems like a lot for schenn especially how he has looked this preseason.

To explain my position here...

Brassard doesn't impact the game defensively. He will never be known as a two-way player like Toews, Hossa, Crosby, Staal, etc... his value is one-dimensional. Even if he breaks out this year with 60 points, I wouldn't care. He's a small fragile player who plays a gritty style of game that will inevitably wear him down. Coyle, Klefbom, and McIlrath are all at least two years away from making any BBKL impact -- in Klefbom and Coyle's corner, there's some serious bust potential.

I also have too many good pieces in my roster to be a bottom five team in 2012-13. My goaltending will bend and likely break this year, allowing me to grab one more franchise piece in this year's draft. Once done, Poulin or Nilsson will take over in Long Island, settling my goaltending once and for all.

I love my roster make-over!

Schenn didn't even look good last year during the preseason.

Hmm.. sorry my internet connection slowed my response time. 1-dimensional, cannot say I'm aware of what you're referring to.

Brayden failing to even look good, not to mention failing to dominate, in pre-season play is a bad sign to me. Absolutely no comparison to Ovy, to whom pre-seaosn means nothing. And I guess you haven't watched Kane this pre-season, as he is owning more then anyone else mentioned.

I would be interested in Morrow, has looked good to me.
