If Toronto wasn't the run away favorite before this trade, he is now.

Pretty much my rationale. I saw the trade as essentially Liles for Strome. Some might call it overpayment. But I've been after Strome for quite some time.

Wiz is much better than both Kimmo and Liles, who are about equal. Kimmo's a bit better but the cap savings and age bridge that gap.

Wiz is a monster, and is poised to repeat with his awesome situation in CBJ

Wizniewski was sheltered in Montreal by their collapsing system. The hits, blocked shots, SHTOI time, etc... all product of Montreal's zone play. In a more open system, Wisniewski will struggle. Wouldn't surprise me if he's considered one of the worse signings at the end of the year.

You don't score 50 by accident...Wisniewski is a good player, his contract is fair market value too, the only reason it is seen as overpayment is because Wisniewski is unproven outside of last year, but it wouldn't be the first time a player broke out late (*cough* Marc Savard *cough*).

Eh. I don't disagree there's something to like with Wisniewski; he is a talented offensive defenseman. I just don't see a top-pairing guy with him. Also note that his SHTOI was likely very inflated in Long Island (though I'm not sure about his blocked shots/hits there). Edit: Just checked NHL.com stats page - can't find anything that splits the difference.
He's a smallish defenseman who's going to be the team's first-pairing guy. To me, that screams failure.

29 points on the powerplay, with only 22 points even-strength.
