Have you seen McDonaughs stats? I think its a great trade for both really. Scott got a stud and So did Franky boy. Fairly lateral imo.

I'd argue that when Staal comes back, McDonagh's #s will go down quite a bit, especially on SHTOI and ES/PP time.

I factored this in, trust me.. but I feel McDonagh's playing his way in to the top 4 in NY for many many years to come. I want to get younger so this really was a no brainer for me. I got my boy McNeill back also..

He is already solidified himself as top 4 defenceman, think top 3 or top pair moving forward, he is that good.
