Everyone waiting on injury result to comment?
No info, looked like a shoulder. If he's gone less then 4 weeks I lose this deal, more then 4 months and mike lost this deal. That's my breakdown.
Reasoning is future impact, hall with identical # to skinner and he's sputtering, barely scratching the surface of what he can do both in terms of both scoring and the physical aspect of the game.
But I do like Skinner's special team role moving forward, especially if the canes can fix their PP.

Only reason hall was on the market was the injury. Last year I let them fuck me over, this year they move. If I had tried to stay the course this year I'd have 4-5 bodies on the ir. not a good thing when trying to win.

What I don't understand that if you believe the team you had going forward was a winner, why trade them away when it's the last four weeks that determines the champion? Hall will have recovered by then.

Every week matters; it'll determine the playoff match-ups, additionally it let's you know what you can expect from a player in a given week. Every week has a little pride in it, and a nice measuring stick.
If Hall is out 4 months he won't be on form for the start of our playoffs, and no way to I get this return, if he's out 2 weeks nice for Mike -> but the # are basically identical as it stands and I def like hall more moving forward, but it's not a sure thing over Skinner.

I see your point Nick, but I'm obviously more inclined to accept Chris's logic. Sure, I want to win every week, but I'm happy (and have the depth) to trade for injured guys like Goli, Hall, Moss, and Mueller.

If your team is as good as you think it is, playoffs seeding won't matter.

According to HockeyCentral (according to HFB Oilers) Hall is out 7-10 days.

Your playoffs are pretty much set regardless...
Round 1: Inferior team (be it 5th or 8th seed)
Round 2: Washington (division leader or not)
Round 3: Best remaining team (was always going to be the case)
The only outcome you potentially changed was the first round match-up, which IMO is a win for you barring a complete collapse. The second round is a constant, and the conference final is always the best remaining team.
