I broke it down yesterday as:
Brodziak ~= Horton + 1st in 2012
Nielsen ~= Tanguay + 1st in 2012 + 1st in 2013
Bozak + Liles ~= Tara + Pronger + 1st in 2012
Plekanec + Oshie for 11 1sts.
Looking back now though, I could've probably gotten a lot more for the picks. Meh.

If someone wanted to take the time to see what you paid for the 1sts, i think they'd find you did a solid cycle....team is beast!

You should have stuck to your original plan and used all of those assets come draft time. If you actually made this year a write-off and focused on next year you could have built whatever team your heart desired and maximized on all of those assets. You got a good team now, but you are still in a group of say 8 top teams, whereas if you were to wait till draft and offseason, i think you could have built the BBKL favorite for 2012-2013.

You were going to sell your player at draft time Kyle?

CONSENSUS - Shiv should have held picks and slowly sold them for more value than he received.
I concur, gentlemen.

It was a joke comment. He paid the guys that have top end players what was needed to get them to move said players. For most of us the price doesn't change at draft time, that phase of the BBKL is slowly ending/die-ing out. My joking example was you, whose prices are unlikely to change regarding your studs and how you value draft selections.

How is that beside the point, that was literally the basis for all of these moves. If anything, it is the point...

Eight? The list is alot closer to five or six teams. Let's be honest, the rest don't really have a chance.

I get what you're saying but what Billy said is 100% truth.

In theory, sure, but at some point you need to heavily overpay to acquire top players, especially when you aren't giving them up.

That is a philosophy I've used since day one and it works! I couldn't agree with you more
