Below are the results of an anonymous poll ranking the top 20 General Managers in the BBKL, in total 24 managers voted. Each 1st place vote recieved 100 points, and second place recieved 95 points, and so on and so forth. The criteria for ranking each manager were as follows: sustained success, inheritance, future outlook and approachability. So without any further ado...

Interesting Facts
  • Only 5 managers received a first place vote: Scott Smith (14), Steve Guptill (6), Mike Morris (2), Kyle (1) and Nick Facey (1).
  • The top 6 managers, as voted on by their peers are original general managers.
  • No manager finished top 5 in each vote.
  • Despite placing second among all teams (H2H) in each of the first three seasons, Kyle only received a single top two vote.
  • Every single manager received at least a single top 20 vote.
  • Kareem Ramadan was the only manager to finish in the top 5 without a single first place vote.
  • Scott Smith, Billy McBride, Kareem Ramadan, Nick Facey, Steve Guptill, Mike Morris, Chuck Seguin, and David Lee were listed by all 24 voters.
  • Lee MacLean, Chris Aggas, Matt Ashley and Tony all finished in the top 20 despite having never made the post season.
  • Despite winning back to back BBKL Championships, Scott Smith barely edged out Steve Guptill for 1st place.
  • Despite failing to pass the second round of the playoffs in either of the first two BBKL seasons, Kareem Ramadan, Mike Morris and Nick Facey all finished in the top 5.

I don't give a fuck. My rankings:

Toronto - Never seen him make a bad deal, foresight to stockpile picks and cash in
LA - Awesome GM, fair and nice to everyone. Overpays when he wants something, always helpful
Tampa Bay - Powerhouse GM, pays when he wants someone
St Louis - Good guy to talk to, very fair in trade talks
Minnesota - Taking the league by surprise, has built a solid team.. from crap
New Jersey - Can flip from a stacked futures team to a #1 contender at the drop of a hat, but inconsistent in the direction of his club
Chicago - Killer deals, personally find him hard to talk to.
Ottawa - Nice mix of youth and vets
Washington - Kareem is a dick.
Pittsburgh - Flip flops like a pro, but makes a lot of questionable moves. Can afford to.
Columbus - Do they even have a GM? Bry was solid before he disappeared.
Montreal - Maybe a little too late to the race for 1st overall
NY Rangers - More than willing to make an offer when someone asking for someone, which is more than can be said about a lot of GMs
Buffalo - Not many talks, not many pleasant talks. Still done a solid job.
Boston - Solid team, but he should have that with the assets he took over. Loses points for his trading strategy.
Phoenix - Questionable interest in the league, but nice to talk to.. if he ever responds.
NY Islanders - Periph visonary, not active enough.
Colorado - Has been solid in the past, not enough of a sample size
Nashville - Has built a solid Euro-centric team... Impossible to trade with.
Dallas - Nice body of work thus far.

FWIW, I thought it was a joke that you weren't #1 on every single ballot. I also think it's safe to say that Kyle is the most underrated manager in this league, if you weren't a member the first two seasons, Kyle likely has two championships right now.

Same, the top 10 were all easy decisions for me (not the order though).
