Re: Minor trade...PHX/CBJ
lol i dont know who won. if i had to pick one id say the team getting malkin won but glennie + the 1st is huge and kopitar in the long run may produce 20 points less than malkin but he hits more categories.

Re: PHX/CBJ
I'll hold out on final judgment of this deal until Phoenix is able to make that second deal they'd like to do involving the 12th pick and a prospect.
Both are still very young and are making big bucks. Kopitar making $2 million less does give him some nice value. Kopitar is more of a true center...he'll get 2 or 3 times as many FOW. Malkin had a down year because he was banged up...this probably isn't the best time to trade him and Kopitar's stock is as high as it's ever been.

pretty huge getting glennie too though. I think he should be considered a big part of the trade too.Shoalzie wroteCOLONI'll hold out on final judgment of this deal until Phoenix is able to make that second deal they'd like to do involving the 12th pick and a prospect.

I wasn't aware malkin was playing hurt this season though! That explains his down year perhaps

Malkin played in only 67 games...he had injuries on both shoulders and then had the bum foot.

Re: PHX/CBJ
Really like this deal for Columbus, there aren't many 100+ players in the NHL, Malkin is one of them...
Re: PHX/CBJ
I agree with kareem here on the malkin thing. 100 point players are hard to come by and I dont think Koptiar has it in him. Although I worry malkin is following in the footsteps of other russians like fedorov and mogilny in the just dont give a fuck anymore routine. His talent garuntees him the top ten to fifteen in points for the next long while. Definatly not a landslide win but I like cbj in this one as well
