So I'm sending in my PC for a new one -- not because it's a pile of junk but because I want total upgrade and I want to build my own PC. Heading to Tigers Direct/Canada Computers later this afternoon.

Anyway, because I have downloaded terrabytes of torrents, done my taxes online, have access to sensitive information from school/work, and well... porn, what program is best for ensuring a thorough and safe data wipe?

And who downloads porn? There's like 500 free sites out there.

I download full-videos once in awhile -- I like listening to a girl getting plowed while I'm studying Kant's Categorical Imperatives back in first year.

I can't stand the standard mass produced stuff. The girls are all so fake. Amateur is where it's at.

Amateur Porn is boring. I'm not saying I'm a Casanova in real-life but I got high standards. Anyway, you know of any programs I can use to wipe my disks?

Are you looking to keep the drive after you're done wiping it.. If not.. do you have a hammer?

No, I'm going to donate the PC if Canada Computers won't do an exchange. I'm going to pull out the GTX 550 and re-install the ATI Radeon HD 4350 first though.

I don't think Deltree does a wipe. A wipe turns all file parameters into random sequences of 1s and 0s. Using the Gutman wipe of 35 1s/0s passes with East-Tec Eraser right now.

Just to give you guys an idea of how long this wipe is going to take, I'm 45 minutes into the wipe, with less than 5% completed and it's already wiped 225 files lol

Almost 26 hours later, it's still wiping. I think what it was doing was deleting the stuff I had already deleted (i.e., shredding them into random 1s & 0s) and then wiping it again (and again). Looks like it's re-wiping the free space I have on my C: drive.

Jeez.
