I don't think the champion deserves the best GM award, nor the runner up. Shiv and Anton had great seasons, but you would be hard pressed to argue that they built the two best teams, and IMO that is the true test of the top GM. Not who got hot at the right time, but rather who built the best team, the team that you least wanted to face in the post-season.

For my money Nick was the best GM last season, and it isn't even close... Anton and Shiv shouldn't even be in the conversation. Pittsburgh was terrible half the season, and Anton likely doesn't win the championship or even make the finals if he comes out of the East.

P.S. If this award continues to go to the league champion, there is no point in even having a poll.

The distinction of best team goes to the inaugural BBKL Champions. That team was stacked from top to bottom, and it was reflected in their results, if you recall the Devils that season went undefeated.

there's another award for that - the Ken Holland. this is simply determining who people think was the best GM in 2011/2012 singularly.

GM of the year in the NHL isn't the champ.

There is almost no point in even having it, it's always going to go to the BBKL Champ as is, and runner up has consistently been the other finalist.

Its true it has always gone to the winner. I improved my former team from a bubble playoff to winning the West, going to the finals and having a deep roster and lost handedly to Scott for the award when he actually had a worse season then the one before it but still managed to win the title. Not saying I should have won the award, as other gms had amazing years, but losing to a team that declined was laughable. He literally made his team worse but won lol.

That being said, I still think Anton deserves this.
