There is right? Or there was? I have it in my brain that there is.

I'm moving to Long Beach in February and need a roommate.

How many people have you murdered?

You move around more than a battered wife trying to hide from her ex-husband.

I've only been in bbkl for just under a year, but within that time it seems that you have moved like 50 times.

it mainly seems that way because i bounced back and forth between canada and australia but in the last 2 years it's been:

Hamilton -> Brisbane -> Hamilton -> Brisbane -> Melbourne -> Hamilton -> Toronto -> California

ive also moved twice within Hamilton since I got back from Melbourne before moving to Toronto including a 1 month stint of being homeless and just couch surfing.

In all seriousness though, take a look at this:

http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ca/long-beach/crime/

We have friends who do live in Long Beach, so there are some nice areas. And if you're a big 'ol racist like myself, you can use this:

http://projects.nytimes.com/census/2010 ... 4.984&l=10

The only thing I used to go to Long Beach for was the Aquarium, which is fucking awesome, the Queen Mary area, and Bubba-Fucking-Gumps! *drool*

I've also heard that Long Beach has the highest concentration of sex offenders in the country ...

I wouldn't recommend living there, but if you have to - do your research. Unless you're a drug dealing black dude with a pit pull who likes to diddle little kids, of course.

Thanks Tony. I've done some research. I should also clarify that I'm not going to be in downtown Long Beach.

I know to stay away from the West and North ends. I'll be going to CSULB so I'll be in the East; Los Altos, Bixby Village, Park Estates areas which I've heard nice things about (and are dark blues in your crime map and 53% white on your racist map). I've also read that downtown Long Beach has been undergoing sort of a revival in the last few years and the reputation it has isn't all that justified anymore (besides the West and North ends). Even within the last 5 years it's improved drastically. Like I said though, I'll be about 20 minutes East of downtown.
