I know for a fact you are going by Wikipedia, but hey who knows I may have written that lol. Wikipedia is people opinions not factual evidence.
The first 3/4 of my comments were from various vancouver Canucks ran websites (
http://www.canuckscentral.com/hbeforethenhl.html,
http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nhl/va ... nucks.html, final piece about Smythe I found the link from wiki -> I believe I'm more then a rookie reader.

Again, there is nothing wrong with Wiki if you check the sources (linked in good occasions). "History of Vancouver". Tourism Vancouver. Retrieved 2009-01-21., Total Hockey, ed. Dan Diamond (1998), Andrews McMeel, p. 251.

TBH -> didn't think I had to link every comment I made, will remember for future
Regardless, provided enough resources to show that the veto didn't happen and doesn't exist, that has been a constant theory of cities w/o teams (that Toronto owns a veto card, it's been said multiple times that no such veto has ever or currently exists).
"Thus no member club has 'veto' power over a proposed franchise relocation."
-> its an NHL board of governors decision, typical board activity decisions require majority votes.
Why hate of Leafs & not Habs? teams have played much more historically (both in the east conference back in the day).
We complain about travel not who is in our division.
Check past your more recent claim/compliant, you were originally in the East, and then complained about which American teams you were matched with, etc, complained when Chicago moved into your division. Every team has lots to deal with, # of border crossings, # times of traveling through the night, total # of KM covered, total # of flights, lack of flow to season, # of back to back games, # of times where your the start of a road trip, # of times end of road-trip, etc... every coach will say what they can for their team, but rarely does the media focus on it nearly this much. And now they have a Heart trophy winner and are barely making a fuss about it !!! insanity !!!!
Also two words DOUG GILMOUR...enough said. Our
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N51jmflc5Io --> your right, phantom stick... even whistled... blood... not called...LOL... hard to let something go when there is so much evidence, Fraser looking DIRECTLY at the two of them as it happens... not saying leafs don't have their situations they complain about, but they are no where near as often, and not pure speculation/opinion.
The same reason you hate us is why we hate you.
I moved out here with limited feelings towards the Canucks, even tried liking & cheering for the local team (which I do 100%; dumb not to for the sake of fun), I'd wager the common leaf fan has no feeling at all towards the Canucks, simply not true the other way around, at least by the comments. Perhaps in TO which I have no experience with, but in the north/west there was little feelings, even some interested fans.
I'm from an all-canuck fan family, have heard it all, but I remember early my cousin's hating on the leafs (trail/fruitville/castlegar people, family of WHA & WHL players), lone leaf fan aside from my mom who "feels sorry me".

My grandpa more then anyone had a seemingly unfounded hate for the blue & white, though much of it seemed to be from only team to watch & beef with former players back in the day.
Way OT, I clearly don't hate the Canucks, remove 1 (Burrows) player and I actually like the team
and I don't deny how good they are or kick them when they are down (and they have had lows), never seen so much rubbing it in then what is currently happening to the leafs (and past 3 years).
