Well fuck, you got a hell of alot more than i got for him. I got one 5th rounder for Skrastins, maybe a 4th cant quite remember. At least people are realizing they have to pay more for real NHL players. Its a good step forward.

i think is more like we are dumping picks too coz of the 60 players limit... luckily i need to drop only 1 (my picks giveaway was over)

yeah, i guess Edmonton was yet another team that had just to give up on its picks because would have needed to cut them at the end of september anyway. Nothing about people finally 'realizing' how valuable a Skrastins would be to their team.

Lol, thats one way to look at it. But if you were around last year and saw the issues that went on with teams struggling to meet minimum games required and the ongoing discussions on what fines should be dealt for failing to meet those requirements you would understand what i was referring to. Being a rebuilding team and meeting the cap minimum as well as minimum games played is a whole other aspect in itself. Tanking fairly and legitimately is challenging. Some teams did that while others didn't.

You guys keep referring to throwing away picks, why would you try and amass 20 picks for the same draft year when you were handed the GM welcome package with the rules laid out, knowing you were pushing extremely close to the 60 player rule? Arian knows the rules and wasn't throwing picks away. He got a pretty good deal for a roster player imo. I was simply referring to my own experience of basically throwing away NHL players before last season began and dealing with the consequences. You can complain all you like but the bottom line is that a rule was in place, it was ignored or not taken seriously, and now you are paying the consequences. Raising the limit next season to 65 is what is presently laid out. That may change because of the uproar but as of right now it still stands. If a team chooses to be at or near the 60 player limit and handcuff themselves with respects to trade opportunity's, that is there decision. We have all offseason to freely release players and clear out garbage. There is plenty of time to do lots of magic. One question i do have that i am unsure of..Is the 60 man rule in place at any given moment or just post roster submission time?
